Re Posted: Characteristics of Righteous Woman Pt.2
Characteristics of Righteous Woman
Pt.2
Tolerates harm for the sake of the religion: The wife of Qays ibn Al-Khateem, who was named Hawwaa’, converted to Islam, but he used to try to avert her from Islam and annoy her while she was prostrating by pushing her and turning her over her head. While he was at Makkah (Mecca) before Hijrah, the Prophet, was told the news of the Ansaar (Helpers) and he was told about the wife of Qays and the harm that she had been subjected to. During the pilgrimage season, the Prophet, met him and said: “Your wife converted to Islam and you harm her and I would like you to stop doing this!” (Al-Isaabah fi Tamyeez As-Sahaabah by Ibn Hajar 8/11064)
· Patient during times of afflictions: Silah ibn Ashyam participated in a battle along with his son. He said to his son, “O son! Go ahead and fight so that I seek the reward of Allaah for losing you!” His son fought until he was killed, then Silah fought and he was killed as well. Women gathered around his wife, Mu‘aathah, so she said, “If you have come to congratulate me, then you are welcome, but if you have come for any other reason, then return!” (Siyar A‘laam An-Nubalaa’ by Ath-Thahabi 3/498)
· Keen on the interest of her children: Umm Sulaym believed in the Prophet, and her husband, Abu Anas, who had been away, returned and asked her: “Have you apostatized?” She said, “I have simply believed in this man!” She kept teaching their son, Anas how to profess the testimony of faith. Once, as she was telling him to testify that 'there is none worthy of worship except Allaah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allaah!', his father admonished her, “Do not corrupt my son!” She said, “I am not corrupting him.” (At-Tabaqaat Al-Kubra by Ibn Sa‘d 8/425)
· Respects her husband: The wife of Sa‘eed ibn Al-Musayyib said, “We used to speak to our husbands in the same manner in which you speak to your commanders!” (Hilyat Al-Awliyaa’ 5/168)
· Endeavors to serve her husband: Asmaa’ bint Abu Bakr said, “When Az-Zubayr married me, he had no property nor did he have any slave. I used to feed his horse with fodder and draw water and sew the bucket for drawing it, and prepare the dough, but I was good at baking bread. I used to carry date stones on my head from Zubayr's land which was two thirds a Farsakh (about two miles) from my house.” [Al-Bukhaari 4926]
· Shares her husband’s feelings: Once, ‘Abdullaah ibn Rawaahah shed tears and his wife shed tears as well, so he asked her, “Why do you shed tears?” She said, “I shed tears because you shed tears!” He said, “I know that I will pass by Hell (on the Siraat) and I did not know if I would survive it or not.” (Siyar A‘laam An-Nubalaa‘ by Ath-Thahabi 1/236)
· Faithful to her husband after his death: Umm Ad-Dardaa’ said to her husband, Abu Ad-Dardaa’ : “You proposed to me in this life and my parents married me to you and I want you to be my husband in the Hereafter!” He told her, “Then, do not get married after my death!” Mu‘aawiyah proposed to her after the death of her husband, but she refused. (Al-Isaabah Fi Tamyeez As-Sahaabah by Ibn Hajar 8/74)
· Diligent to learn knowledge of the Sharee‘ah (Islamic legislation). Faatimah, the daughter of Shaykh ‘Alaa’ Ad-Deen As-Samarqandi was brought up well by her father and she was a knowledgeable jurist who memorized the book that her father wrote, Tuhfat Al-Fuqahaa’. Some kings knew about what she had done; so they proposed to her, but her father refused. After this, one of the students of her father, Al-Kaasaani came and wrote Badaa’i‘ As-Sanaa’i‘, which is an explanation of the book of his Shaykh the Tuhfah, and presented it to his Shaykh As-Samarqandi. His Shaykh was very happy with this book, married him to his daughter and made this book her dowry. Her husband would sometimes make a mistake and she would correct it for him. Fatwas were passed with her approval and her father’s. After her marriage, Fatwas would have her approval, as well as her father’s, and her husband’s approval. (Al-Fawaa’id Al-Bahiyyah by Al-Laknawi)
· Seeks what is lawful and avoids what is prohibited: Maymoonah bint Al-Aqra‘ wanted to sell the spun yarn that she had made, so she gave to the spinner and told him, “When you sell it tell the buyer that it may not be tightly spun because I was fasting!” After that she went to the spinner and asked him to give her the spun yarn back as she was afraid that he might not tell people what she had told him. (A‘laam An-Nisaa’ by Ridha Kahaalah 5/138)
· Calls to the way of Allaah The Almighty. Umm Shareek accepted Islam when she was in Makkah, then she started going to the women of the Quraysh secretly calling them to embrace Islam until the people of Makkah discovered what she was doing. Thus, they took her and told her that they would have punished her severely, if it were not for her family and kinfolk. They returned her to her people. (Sifat As-Safwah by Ibn Al-Jawzi 2/53)

Repost: Characteristics of Rigtheous Woman Part 1
Characteristics Of A Righteous Woman
Pt.1
Ziyaad ibn Abeeh the Umayyad statesman, asked those who were sitting with him, “Who leads the most blissful life?” They replied, “The Commander of the Believers does!” He said, “No. The man who leads the most blissful life is a Muslim man who is married to a Muslim woman and they have enough sustenance, and each of them is happy and satisfied with their partner! This man does not know us and we do not know him!”
Who is this woman who was admired by the most eloquent and most shrewd man among the Arabs? She is the woman who is chaste and virtuous. A woman whose face is shining with purity, whose heart shines with the glory of obedience to Allaah The Almighty and whose outer appearance reflects dignity and arouses reverence. This is the woman who is faithful in dedicating her heart, emotions and thoughts to her husband. Some of the characteristics of such woman are:
· She offers sound opinions and advice: Saffaanah bint Haatim At-Taa’i went to her brother after she met the Messenger of Allaah and started to tell her brother about Islam. Her brother asked her, “What do you think of this man?” She replied, “I think we should follow him!” [Al-Isaabah 8/108]
· She sacrifices family and homeland for the sake of supporting the religion: Umm Kulthoom bint ‘Uqbah emigrated from Makkah (Mecca) to Madeenah for the sake of her religion while she was still a girl who had never been married. She left her father who was an evil man, comparable to a devil in human form. After that, her brothers pursued her, so she said to the Prophet, , “Would you let them take me back [in order to] turn me back from my religion, low as my endurance is and as weak as you know women are?’’ [Al-Bukhaari 4/3945]
· Hastens to do good deeds: In the following story, the female companion gave an excellent practical example of this. The Prophet, had a guest and asked his wives if they had any food, but they all said that they only had water. Hence, the Prophet, asked his Companions: “Who can host this man?” One of the Ansaar (Helpers) said that he could do that and took the guest home.
The man asked his wife to be generous with the guest of the Prophet, , but she told him that they had nothing except a little food for their children. The husband asked her to prepare the meal, light the lamp and let the children sleep if they asked for dinner. The wife prepared the meal, lit her lamp and made her children sleep. Then, she stood up pretending to mend her lamp, but she put it off. Then both she and her husband pretended to be eating before their guest, while in reality, they really went to bed hungry.
In the morning, the Ansari man went to the Messenger of Allaah, who said: “Tonight, Allaah laughed or wondered at your action.” Allaah The Almighty revealed the verse (which means): {But give [them] preference over themselves, even though they are in privation. And whoever is protected from the stinginess of his soul - it is those who will be the successful.} [Quran 59:9] [Al-Bukhaari 3798]
· Her chastity is beyond what minds can conceive: Mu‘aawiyah ibn Abu Sufyaan went to his wife, Maysoon bint Bahdal, accompanied by a castrated servant. On seeing the slave, [the unveiled] wife became very anxious and asked her husband disapprovingly,“Who is he?!” Her husband comforted her by saying, “Do not worry; he is just a castrated slave.” The righteous wife replied, “Still, he is a non-Mahram (marriageable man) to me; even castration does not allow for him what Allaah The Exalted has made prohibited.” She refused that the castrated slave would enter the house [while she was not wearing Hijaab (Islamic covering)]. [Al-Bidaayah wa An-Nihaayah by Ibn Katheer 148/8]
· Honors the rites ordained by Allaah The Almighty: In the year sixty-five after Hijrah, Jameelah, the daughter of the governor of Mosul, performed Hajj and had four hundred camels and many Hawdajs to the extent that one could not know on which one she was staying. She emancipated five hundred slaves and gave fifty thousand dresses to charity. (Siyar A‘laam An-Nubalaa’ by Ath-Thahabi)
· Does what is right without fearing criticism: ‘Eesa ibn ‘Allaam ‘Uthmaan said, “I was at Faatimah bint ‘Ali’s house both, and a man came praising her father. She took ash and threw it at his face.” [Tabaqaat ibn Sa‘ad 8/466]
· Devout worshipper: Al-Haytham ibn Jammaaz said, “I was married to a woman who does not sleep at night [as she would be praying all the night]. I could not stay up late with her, but she would sprinkle water and nudge me with her foot while saying, ‘Are you not shy of Allaah? For how long would this snoring go on?’ (He said), By Allaah! I would be ashamed of myself considering what she did.” (Ta‘theem Qadr As-Salaah 2/ 835)
· Abstinent regarding worldly temptations. Al-Waaqidi narrated that once it was the eve of `Eed and he had nothing, so he went to one of his friends who was a merchant and borrowed one thousand dinars sealed in a bag. When he returned home, one of his friends from Bani Haashim from the family of the Prophet, came to him and told him that he was in need. Al-Waaqidi went to his wife and told her about this. She asked, “What will you do?” He replied, “I will give him half the money in the bag!” She said, “This is nothing! One of the family of the Prophet, comes to you and you give him half the bag!” Therefore, Al-Waqidi gave him all the money. The merchant was a friend of this man and asked him to lend him money. The Haashimi man gave him the same bag, so he recognized it. When the ruler knew about their story, he rewarded every one of their men one thousand dinars and gave the woman four thousand dinars, and said,“She is the most generous one among you!” (Siyar A‘laam An-Nubalaa’ by Ath-Thahabi 9/467)

Who is a true Believer?
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Successful indeed are the believers.) (2. Those who with their Salah are Khashi`un.) (3. And those who turn away from Al-Laghw.) (4. And those who pay the Zakah.) (5. And those who guard their private parts.) (6. Except from their wives or their right hand possessions, for then, they are free from blame.) (7. But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors.) (8. Those who are faithfully true to their Amanat and to their covenants are Ra`un.) (9. And those who strictly guard their Salawat.) (10. These are indeed the heirs. ) (11. Who shall inherit Firdaws. They shall dwell therein forever.) |

The Best Jihad for Women
In the name of Allah, the Most Beneficient, the Most Merciful Assalamualaikum wa rahmathullahi wa barakaathuhu! Ummul Momineen `Aishah (May Allah be pleased with her) reported: I said: "O Messenger of Allah! ( sallallahu alayhi wasallam ) We consider Jihad as the best deed, should we not then go for Jihad?'' Varying Forms of Wrong Backbiting
Assalamualaikum wa rahmathullahi wa barakaathuhu! The Varying Forms of Wrongful Backbiting Shaikh ul-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah [rahimahullaah] Majmoo' al-fataawaa Shaikh ul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah vol 28 pages 236-238 There are found amongst the people those that will backbite in accordance to his gathering and his companions and his associates. Whilst his knowing that the one being backbitten is free of what it is they say – or of some of what they say. However; he sees that if he were to forbid them then the sitting will cease and the people of the sitting would become sullen with him just as they would become estranged from him. So he sees compliance with them through good social relations as well as good companionship; so when they become angered then he likewise becomes angry due to their being angered – so he takes it up with them. Then there are those that take backbiting out into many forms. So at times it would be in the form of Religion and rectification, so he will say: 'I am not in the habit of mentioning anyone except in good; and I neither like backbiting nor lies. However I shall inform you of his affairs.' So He will say: 'By Allaah – he is Miskeen (weak/pitied) – or he is a good man; however he has in him such and such.' Or he may say: 'let us leave off him; may Allaah forgive him and us.' Whilst his intent is to belittle him as well as causing a wrong to his flank. Thus taking the backbiting out from the form of rectification and Religion. They seek to deceive Allaah with that just as they deceive the creation. For we have seen this and its like from them in many varying colours. Then there are those that will elevate other than himself out of showing off – and then raise himself. So he will say: 'If I had supplicated for so and so last night in my prayer; then there would have reached me from him such and such.' So as to raise himself whilst putting him down with the one that may have faith in him. Or he may say: 'so and so is dull in intelligence and has little understanding. ' So his intent is the praise of himself and establishing his awareness of him – and that he is better than him. Likewise from them are those that are carried by envy upon backbiting; and so will gather between two ugly affairs: backbiting as well as envy. So when an individual is praised, then he will try to remove that from him through showing his deficiencies in the form of Religion and rectification – or in the form of envy and immorality and dispraise – in order to remove that from him. Then there are those that take backbiting out into the form of mockery and play; in order to bring laughter to other than himself through his joking and his mimicry and his belittling of the one he is joking about. Then there are those that take backbiting out into the form of amazement; so he will say: 'I am amazed at so and so at how he does not do such and such?! And from so and so as to how he fell into such and such; and how he did such and such.' Thus pronouncing his name during the course of his amazement. There are those from them that show sorrow; so he will say: 'so and so is weak/pitied, it has caused me sorrow for what has happened to him and what the outcome was for him.' So he who hears him thinks that he has sorrow for him and that he is regretful and that his heart is covered in the attainment of recovery for him; and if it were possible then he would add to that which was with him. He may also mention him in front of his enemies so that they may profit from it. So this; and other than it is from amongst the greatest of the sicknesses of the heart as well as deceitfulness to Allaah and His creation. From them are those that make apparent backbiting through the form of anger and disapproving something abominable. So there becomes manifest in this aspect certain things from the adornment of speech which contains fallacies. Whilst his intent was other than what he made apparent. And Allaah's aid is sought. |

The Difference between advice and backbiting
The difference between advice and backbiting Shaykhul Islaam Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah The difference between advice and backbiting is that the intent behind advice is to warn the Muslim against an innovator, deceiver or an evil doer. So you will mention about him that which is necessary if one was to seek counsel from you about his companionship, having business transactions or any type of attachment with him as the Messenger صلى الله عليه و سلم said to Faatimah Bint Qays when she went to him seeking counsel concerning marriage to Mu'aawiyah (Ibn Abi Sufyaan) or Abu Jahm, so he صلى الله عليه و سلم said to her: "As for Mu'awiyyah then he is a poor man and as for Abu Jahm then he used to beat his women." ...(as explained in a narration in Saheeh Muslim: Hadeeth: 1480-47. The chapter of divorce), and some of his (Abu Jahm's) companions used to advise those who traveled with him that when you leave his land (where he is known) then be cautious of him (i.e. be cautious of marring him because he is known for beating his women). So if Backbiting occurs in a manner in which it is advice for the pleasure of Allaah and loving the sunnah of His Messenger صلى الله عليه و سلم and (loving) His slaves from amongst the Muslims, then it is a means of closeness to Allaah and from hasanaat (the acts of good). And if it takes place in a manner where it is to humiliate your brother and to tear up his honor and to take delight in his flesh and to bite at it and to lower his place from the hearts of the people, then this is a disease that is incurable and a fire of hassanaat (good deeds) that burns them just as fire burns up wood. Wasalamualaikum! |

A Word for Women
AsSalam Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakaatuhu A word for Women By Shaykh Badiuddeen Shah ar-Raashidee as-Sindhee from "Khutubaat Raashidiyyah" Translated By: Abu Ahmad source: therighteouspath. com The mother of the believers Aa'ishah, radiallaahu , has narrated more than two thousand Ahadith. She was the teacher of all in knowledge and jurisprudence. The Sahaaba used to turn to her (for solutions) for the biggest of the issues. After the Aayah of Ah zaab was revealed the Messenger of Allaah sallallaahu alaihi wasllam asked her to consult with her father (Abu Bakr) and decide if she would prefer the splendor of this world or The hereafter(i. e. the Messenger of Allaah sallallaahu alaihi wasallam)? The mother of the believers, Aa'ishah radiallaahu said in reply, 'I need no consultation in this matter with my parents, I prefer the Aakhirah (i.e. the Messenger of Allaah sallallaahu alaihi wasallam) better than this world.' Asma' bint Umais radiallaahu anha, the wife of Abu Bakr radiallaahu anhu was a very patient woman. When she learnt about The killing of her son, Muhammad bin Abee Bakr radiallaahu anhu , then instead of crying and wailing, she took control over her anger and sat in the Masjid quietly. Due to which she bled. The Taabi'iyyah, Ummus Suhba' was a worshipping and abstentious woman. Inher illness she was presented with a special kind of intoxicant in a cup. She supplicated to Allaah, 'O Allaah! If You know that Your Messenger has indeed forbidden this intoxicant, then safeguard me from it and cure me with out using it.' (Then) the cup broke and The intoxicant flowed down and she was cured. (She) used to wake up in the night and say, that she was astonished about her eyes, that they knew that they had to sleep for a long time in the grave and in spite of that they want to sleep here!! [Translators Footnote] This is a part of a Khutbah by Allaamah Shaykh Badiuddeen ar-Raashidee as-Sindhee taken from Khutubaat Raashidiyyah. p.122-123 The title is chosen by the Translator. [Translators Footnote] "O Prophet (Muhammad sallallaahu alaihi wasallam)! Say to your wives: If you desire the life of this world, and its glitter, Then come! I will makea provision for you and set you free in a handsome manner (divorce)." (Surah Al-Ahzab 33:28) [Translators Footnote] There seems to be some words missing here. It is not clear if what follows is said about the Ummus Suhba' or someone else. Umm ad-Darda' as-Sugraa was told that someone is complaining (or mentioning something wrong) about you to The Khalifa Abdul Maalik. Then she replied thatshe did not care, if someone has illegally accused me then someone must haveillegally praised me as well (which I may not deserve ). When Laila, the grandmother of Khalifah Umar bin Abdul Azeez, was a small child, one elderly lady from the household told her when the latter part of thenight had set in that, 'Add water to the milk as it is time for morning.' She replied,'How can I add water to the milk when the Ameer ul-Mu'mineen (Umar radiallaahu anhu) has forbidden it.' The woman said, 'O you foolish one! IsAmeer ul-Mu'mineed looking right now?' The little girl replied, 'But Allaah iswatching me! I will not do such a thing.' There are many such incidents from which my sisters can take a lesson. I would ask them that instead of other stories and novels they take up studying the translations of Qur'an and Hadeeth. Due to which not only will they correct themselves but their children as well will gain benefit from it. Allaah Ta'alaa commanded the Messenger's sallallaah u alaihi wasallam wives that the recitationof Qur'an and Hadeeth should be done in their homes. And your homes should be like theirs, such that the Qur'an and Hadeeth isrecited and the translations are studied and they are memorized. [Translators Footnote] This addition mentioned in the same story narrated on page 99 Seerah Umar bin Abdil Azeez by Abdullaah bin Abdil H akim p.17-18 [Translators Footnote] The author is referring to this Aayah. "And remember (O you the members of the Prophet's family, the G races of your Lord), that which is recited in your houses of the Vers es of Allaah and al-Hikmah (i.e. Prophet's Sunnah)." (Surah Al-Ahzab 33:34) |

Taking Off Hijab Syndrome
Taking Off Hijab SyndromeShe was over-weight but beautiful. She proudly wore her hijab everywhere. No one who saw her knew she was suffering from depression. Hoda* would come to the masjid every Friday listen to the lectures. At one point in time, she stopped coming to the masjid regularly and would pop in every once in a while. News came around that she went to the hospital for over-dosing on weight-loss pills. At that time I was a regular member of all-woman's gym. I would see her there regularly and every week it was like she kept dividing her body in two. It was a little odd to me, but mashaAllah she grew even more and more beautiful. One day at LSU I was walking to class and this skinny girl who I didn't recognize immediately passed by me and said, "Salam alaikum, Shirien!" and I look up and I reply "Walaikum Assalam!" and we both kept walking our separate ways. It was wallahi one of those moments when reality doesn't hit you until 10 seconds too late. I turned around to do a double-take to see who this sister was. And my mouth dropped. I realized it was Hoda. At that time my mouth dropped because she looked like a completely different person. But even later than that, I realized that she was out in public without her hijab, which left me speechless. I guess it didn't strike me as odd at first because I saw her all the time at the gym without her hijab. But when I realized what was really going on, a rush of grief overtook me. I couldn't believe it. Not only was her body image different, but her relationship with Allah soon became different as well. Most of us know someone who has put on the hijab and then taken it off. And dear sisters, if you are amongst them then do not despair, but take heed to the rest of what I have to say. During my first few days here in Egypt I went out with my cousin and her friend Lena* to this beautiful restaurant over-looking the beach. It was the first time I met Lena. She was sweet, kind and polite — she also happened to be a hijabi. We went out and had a great time. I don't know if i'll see her again any time soon. But I was happy my cousin had such wonderful friends, mashaAllah. Two days later, I'm with my cousin in the car stuck in traffic and she tells me "Did you know Lena took off her hijab?" I was like, "When? You mean a couple of years ago?"She replied, "No… I mean like yesterday. She's been wearing it for seven years now." I was baffled. The thought of going out without my hijab after putting it on - especially for so long- is unthinkable to me. Not only because 1. I do it for the sake of Allah, but 2. Because it would make me feel so exposed and naked without it. I proceeded to tell my cousin that the intention probably wasn't right from the beginning. After all, a lot of people in Egypt do it because of culture, not religion. But my cousin refuted that and told me that she was very sincere when she put it on and Lena told her that she wore it for the sake of Allah.
And then I thought back… and I thought about the low self-esteem. Not everyone who takes off their hijab does so because they never had the right intention. And not everyone takes it off because they have low self-esteem or family pressure. But still the question lingers… why? What is missing in our lives that we feel will be fulfilled with taking off our hijabs? One answer? The love and attention of people, whether we know it consciously or subconsciously. Allah 'az wa jal says in surat Al-Baqarah: "And of mankind are some who take (for worship) others besides Allah as rivals (to Allah). They love them as they love Allah. But those who believe, love Allah more (than anything else). If only, those who do wrong could see, when they will see the torment, that all power belongs to Allah and that Allah is Severe in punishment" It's seeking love from other than Allah. It's obeying (worshiping) society and desires and leaving the worship of Allah 'az wa jal. And wallahi dear sisters, it is this seeking of filling the void in the heart in places other than with Allah that brings a person to the edge of a very steep cliff — a cliff that can lead to a person's spiritual death. What we truly miss in our hearts that needs fulfilling, is the love of Allah. Dear sisters, whether we've never worn hijab at all or recently have decided to take it off, first, know that we do not judge anyone and what another's heart contains. The hearts belong to Allah and no one can know what is in another person's heart other than Allah. There are girls who wear hijab and commit shirk with Allah. And in the eyes of Allah they are nothing. Second, know that Allah 'az wa jal says in His noble book: "Say: "O Ibadee (My slaves) who have transgressed against themselves (by committing evil deeds and sins)! Despair not of the Mercy of Allah, verily Allah forgives all sins. Truly, He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful." It does not matter what people think of us. If you feel, since you've taken off your hijab, people have judged you, then know that Allah 'az wa jal is the one who will judge between people on the day of judgment. So what matters is what Allah 'az wa jal thinks about you. And we should not seek love and attention from people before we seek it from Allah. Truly if you seek the love of Allah, then you will follow what Allah has sent with Muhammad Salallahu alayhi wa sallam and in turn you will gain the love of Allah and feel it in your hearts and be fully content.
As Allah 'az wa jal says, "Say (Muhammad salallahu alayhi wa sallam): 'If you really love Allah, then follow me and Allah will love you. He will forgive your sins and Allah is the Oft-Forgiving, Most-Merciful.'" Third, every girl who starts to wear hijab late in her life always goes through this stage in which she thinks about what it will be like to "never go out with her hair done again." I know many sisters who set a time period of when they will start to wear hijab. They tell themselves, "I'm going to start wearing hijab FOR SURE, inshaAllah, when Ramadan starts." (Hopefully Allah allows them to live that long.) And we want to enjoy their time while we can before we actually commit to wear the hijab and never take it off. Subhanallah, we know what you are going through, sisters. But know that while we think that we are "enjoying your time before commitment," we will soon regret that time we spent before committing to hijab. When you do something purely for the sake of Allah, then you regret all the times you didn't do it. It's like a Muslim who starts to pray later in life, they soon regret all the times they didn't pray when they were supposed to. Allah 'az wa jal clearly gives us an order in the Quran to wear our hijabs, and who has more right to be obeyed and fully submitted to other than the one who created us, nurishes and provides for us? No one. Allah 'az wa jal orders the believing women surat An-Nur to: "…not to show off their adornment except only that which is apparent (like both eyes for necessity to see the way, or outer palms of hands or one eye or dress like veil, gloves, headcover, apron), and to draw their veils all over Juyoobihinna (i.e. their bodies, faces, necks and bosoms)…" We all say that we want to get closer to Allah. And it's always about taking that next step. Everyone deep down knows what that next step is in their life, whether it's actually doing something or even just refraining from one particular sin. "Taking Off Hijab Syndrome" or "Didn't Start Wearing Hijab Yet Syndrome" have cures. And that cure is found only with Allah. Seek help from Allah more than you would seek help from a doctor for a fatal disease. Because even doctors cannot cure diseases without the will of Allah. Take the first step and Allah will help you take care of the rest inshaAllah. He will take care of all the people who have ever judged you, he will take care of your beauty and most of Allah he will take care of that void in your heart. Wallahu alem. May Allah 'az wa jal guide us to the path that leads to seeing His Face in Jannah, and may Allah make it easy for all our sisters.
