Ascription
It is obligatory upon every Muslim to take his understanding of the religion from the Salaf. The Sharee'ah texts prove and establish this. This is not to the liking of the various sects, parties and groups who have innovated doctrines and methodologies as the basis of their activities. Whilst on the one hand they claim using the term "Salafi" is divisive, they are happy to accept and accommodate the various other labels such as Ikhwan, Tabligh, Tahrir, Naqshabandi, Chistee and all the various other ascriptions and labels, which ultimately go back to the views and opinions of one man. Whereas, the ascription to the Salaf is an ascription to thousands of the illustrious people of knowledge whose collective agreement cannot be upon error.
