The Difference between advice and Backbiting

As salaamou alikum a similar issue happened in Myspace a sister did not like i posted a articles about Beware whom you take from this Summer. But she had no evidence to prove her Point and was like Well why does everyone think the Salafi web site is golden actually the Salafi websites only take from those who are sound in there Religion not from a cereal box Da'ee, Alot of people don't think they should be warned against those who have issue in there Religion it would seem to me you will listen to anyone who calls Muslim. Even among the salafiyoon they had a background on them Such as where they have studied and from whom. this is important but some think that the salafiyoon have not done this that they pull the info from there hat. it is funny and a shame folks don;t bother to Read anymore. any way Warning against some for those who have authority to do so not every common Muslim can do this is not back biting but i suggest they Read what is permissible and not.and Fear Allah because thinking just because some one say I'm Muslim there is No God but Save Allah has your best interest at heart. all that means thats there your brother or sister in the Deen it does not make them Correct in there Aqeedah.
ALL I'M SAYING SIMPLY IS BEWARE WHOM YOU TAKE YOUR INFORMATION BECAUSE ONE OF THE SIGNS IS: RELIGIOUS KNOWLEDGE WILL DIE WITH THE LEARNED MEN OF THIS ISLAM.
and don't think the learned men of this deen have no authority over you i hate when people say and i Quote or the prophet Wives had no authority or the Learned men don't have no say. astaagfirAllah shame on us.

The difference between advice and backbiting

And the difference between backbiting and advice is that the intent
behind advice is to warn the Muslim against an innovator or someone who
can be a cause of fitnah (trial and tribulation) for him or from one
who will deceive him or corrupt him.


So you will mention about him that which is necessary (from those
things which were mentioned previously and or other than them) if there
is between him and the other some sort of affiliation or business
transaction or any type of involvement with him. As the Messenger
(Sallallaahu 'Alaihi wa Sallam) said to Fatimah Bint Qays (radiAllaahu 'anhu) as she went to him seeking
counsel concerning marriage to Mu’awiyyah (Ibn Abi Sufyaan) or Abu Jahm
(radiAllaahu 'anhu), so he (Sallallaahu 'Alaihi wa Sallam) said to her:



“As for Mu’awiyyah then he is a poor man and as for Abu Jahm then he beats his women…” (Sahih Muslim)



And some of his (Abu Jahm’s) companions used to advise those who
traveled with him that, “when you leave from his land (i.e. where he is
known) then be cautious of him” (i.e. cautious of getting him married
because of what he was known for of beating his women).


So, if backbiting occurs in a manner in which it is advice for the pleasure of Allaah and loving the Sunnah of) His Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم)
and (loving) His slaves from amongst the Muslims, then it is a means of
closeness to Allaah and from the hasanaat (the acts of good). And if it
takes place in a manner where it is to humiliate your brother and to
tear up his honor and to take delight in his flesh and to bite at it
and to lower his place from the hearts of the people, then this is a
disease that is incurable and it will burn up his good deeds just as
fire burns up wood.
