Four Madina Imams, muezzins fired, 17 others suspended ref: http://www.saudigaz ette.com. sa/index. cfm?method= home.regcon&contentID=200812242 4921   Four Imams and muezzins have been fired and the services of 17 others suspended in Madina for negligence and poor service.   The Ministry of Islamic Affairs in the holy city took the action because of repeated absence, delays in turning up for duty and substandard performance.   "They were indisciplined, failed to abide by the instructions governing their work and lax in caring for the houses of Allah," said Dr. Muhammad Bin Al-Ameen Al-Khatri, the Branch's director.   He said disciplinary and punitive actions taken against them had not helped rectify the situation in any way.   The branch's field inspectors monitor the performance of Imams and muezzins.   "The care of mosques is a sacred duty that needs to be professionally handled," Al-Khatri said.   "We have a zero-tolerance policy against violators."
